Hi all, brand new to this forum. I recently, meaning yesterday, got two baby leopard geckos from a local pet store. I watched them eat, they all seemed healthy in their enclosure and picked the two I liked best, which happened to also be the two eating the most as well.
I left for work, when I got home one of the babies seemed to have a fractured leg. There isn't much climbing in my cage yet as I thought they were too small to have those dangers. So the baby seems to have broken its leg, without probable cause. I am leading towards the probability that I bought a baby with MBD. I can return her and get my money back, though I am concerned that they will just use her as snake food if I do. They also will supply veterinary care for the gecko as I bought her with this debilitating condition.
She gets along really well actually and ate a couple mealworms this morning I had sprinkled with Calcium.
I've done a lot of reading this morning on similar situations and would like some more input:
What should I demand the store vet to do?
I am more than willing to coach her along back to health, but don't feel I should have to pay for it obviously. So I would like to come to the store with a plan of action so I can get her healthy again. I have seen a lot of leos recover from these same instances and have faith that she can too, I don't mind having a crippled leo.
