I have only used regular calcium and calcium with d3, I have reptivite that I use with the dragons , should I use that with him too? And if I cant get him to eat soon, can I give him that slury thing?

Reptivite is ok, although I prefer Herptivite. Feed the crickets high calcium cricket food that has D3 in it so you will only need to use the Calcium w/D once a week. Plain calcium twice a week.

Soak him for 15 minutes in a low amount of warm water to see if it makes him eat. It can be he is slowing down due to the time of year, but a soak will be good anyway.

Hi,
So I soaked him (which probably helped a lot because he was shedding anyways) but he still would not eat. I think I am going to get some wax worms for him tomorrow to see if that will tempt him. I will be ordering some silks. But I am getting worried because all he has had in about a week and a half now is 1 meal worm. I took a few pics of him today, does he look skinny and does his tail look like its regenerating okay?

Okay, so it may not be that he's not eating because he's blind, but I think he's "addicted" to wax worms..I bought some today to see if that could tempt him into eating, and sure enough he ate 8..he still had horrible aim and it took him awhile to eat, but he ate 8. How do I wean him off of these? Is it at all possible for him to live off of wax worms, and maybe some dubia's if I can get him to eat those again? He wont eat crickets or meal worms. I will try the silks and I have to order more dubia's.

I would strongly disagree feeding waxworms, there horrible for your leo and for you to put them as a side staple is just asking for trouble health wise in the near future. waxworms contain very high amounts of fat and very low nutrition, you should only feed as a 'treat' if anything . i have good hopes for silkworms, ive read they work with picky eaters and from experience mine devour them good luck:main_thumbsup:

I purchase mine from my local pet store. did you try to look online already?. lady silkworm has a silkworm take out cup offer with 60-80 zebra worm count, $8 at one and $15 for two, there sold out but its something to mention and consider when she restocks. You can check out silkwormshop aswell, I buy mine 12 for $11 and change these suckers arent cheap at all even at 23 lol, im going to start ordering them online most likely to start saving, so I can understand but they are worth it!, its very much worth a shot at this point to try and better your situation and your leo.:main_thumbsup:

just my 2 cents, keep moisture away from these guys they will die easily exposed to it. they last up to 6 days without food(in my experience) whatever count you order judge how much you will feed off and if you need to order food(chow). I can also understand your concern about ordering these guys and in the chance your leo not touching them leaving you with a waste...are you positive nowhere around you has silkworms so you can test?. I have heard they worked with picky eaters like I said, just something to think about, good luck nonetheless:main_thumbsup:

Thanks!
Since I get paid this week I think I will buy in bulk. Rex has eaten dubia's before, over the summer I had a nice colony going for 1 bearded dragon, but then within 1 week I took in 2 more beardies and got Rex at an expo. So my colony ran out, lol.
I think I am going to order silks in bulk and order some chow. If Rex doesnt eat them, my beardies and box turtle defiently will.
I have tried crickets and meal worms for Rex but he wont eat anything but wax worms now. Hopefully I can get him to eat either dubias or silks.

Oh I know! Babies are even worse..I took in two adults. One was okay but one was in rough shape, he never had a UVB before or heat light, dirty tank with no substrate, he was just walking on the bottom glass with crap everywhere, and only being fed pellets with crickets every once in awhile. So when I took him in, he had no idea what they salads were or what dubias and supers were. Now though, he loves salad and dubias and supers and his wax worm treats. But they ate my whole colony of roaches in 2 weeks!

Okay sorry guys but I have 2 more questions..
1. So Rex is getting the black dots on his tail like before, but its still pink. Is that normal, and when will it turn white again and grow some skin over it?
2. Is it okay to give him about 4 wax worms every other day until I get the roaches/silks? It will be for about a week. Is that enough or too much?
