Bad or not?

This egg is due to hatch this coming thursday. About 3 or 4 days ago it started turning brown, and smelling and having a slimy feel to it.

looks like a dud, it may not be fertile or may not have developed, once they start to smell there is really no hope.

You can cut it open and see if it was even fertile

Sorry, I think its dead. Kinda looks like a sweet potato compared to the other ones.

It wasn't my baby. And yet again another fertile egg that went bad. Thats 3 so far in the last two weeks. Two were mine, this one was a friends. All incubated at 81 degrees!

Ok, lets take a look at how you are incubating them to see if we can find the problem....

What type incubator are you using?
What incubation substrate?
What thermostat?
What thermometer to double check temps?

Id like to help you and see if we can find out what the problem is.

I was just using a home made incubator. My female laid way to soon for me to buy one this year. And no thermostate. So yea I kno thats the man reason there but the egg that wasn't mine the female that laid it laid 4 total and all 4 died after two of them looked fertile
