R2 line had a very bold nose marking. most likely my male came from tremper years ago (before bandits). it's a cute lil trait. what does he claim it is? co-dom, dominant, simple recessive or does he even know? i am with marcia on this one just looks like a nice lil snow jungle.

He just claims it as a bandit. I asked for a bandit stripe combo like he had sold previously on the site and he said he was out of the stripe bandit combos but had 3 bandits in the snow morph that he could send me photos of to choose from.

Im not completely sure how to answer that right now but I can tell you what Ive read about the bandits and so far no one has stated if its dom or co-dom yet that I know of. I do know its genetic but I dont know to what degree. Here is a little info found from another site. Leopard Geckos Unlimited.

Jungle Leopard Geckos:
The Jungle phase is how the first stripe leopard gecko was produced. The jungle phase is highly variable and can produce geckos that look totally different from one to another. This pattern consists of irregular, asymmetrical, dark body blotches or marbling with a non-ringed tail. A non albino jungle phase has dark spots on it's limbs. There are also a couple sub categories of the jungle phase. One is the "four eyed" jungle and one is the "bandit" jungle morphs. These variations of the morph do happen with some frequency. The four eyed had two round white circles, mostly with a black dot in the center, and one over each of the gecko's eyes. The bandit variation is a jungle phase leopard gecko with very distinct broad dark band running across the nose area between the nasal openings and the eyes Both the four eyed and bandit's traits are genetic and occur within the jungle phase.

I asked Ron about the "bandit" mark and he said this.
"the band across the nose and the bold high contrast pattern is a recessive"

Very nice Stephanie. I like the nose band. It's hard to tell if it's recessive, I have seen various Bandit crosses that have the nose band also. Next season I will be working with a few Bandits to gain some first hand experience with them. Good luck in the future with that one Steph.

=D thanks Ken. I was afraid I was going to be defending Ron's word and my intelligence on this one after those first few posts.

IMHO, that's a very modest statement Robin. ;) I think the R2s were/are nothing short of spectacular. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to snag a couple.
