Barely eats but still fat

Has anyone ever had a gecko that eats like, once a week but still has a fat healthy tail? My friend's gecko who I am in possession of at the moment barely ever wants to eat but her tail is still so fat. She eats one superworm a week, just about. Her temps are 94-96 on the hot side and 80ish on the cool side, and she's about a year and a half to two years old.

Do some geckos just not prefer to eat often? I'm almost positive she's not sick, her poop looks healthy and she's pretty active.

I have a male that just doesn't eat much, but still eats way more than one superworm a week. That would make me conserned, someone here with more experience can advise you.

Adult leopard geckos don't eat much to begin with, now with colder weather, many have really cut back on feeding. It's a natural cycle for them to go through especially if you live somewhere that's very cold.

Also check to see if she's ovulating, they tend to eat very little if any at all when they are ovulating.

The fact that she still does eat one superworm a week, and still poops fine, and isn't losing weight, it's indication that she's fine.

My tangerine male (70g) used to eat like a horse up until a few weeks ago. He would do four or five superworms and a couple of crickets every night. In the past few weeks, he's only eaten a total of about 10 meal and superworms. He is very plump, alert, active, and I've caught him mating with my female several times. I'm not at all concerned about him. Bob

Same goes for me (the geckos, not the mating). Some of my geckos are eating 1 superworm a week, some more and some less. My male who hasn't really eaten much in the past 3 months (!) weighed in last week at 101 grams. It's winter. Happens this way at my house every year.
