Bathroom spot

I've read that these guys will normally go the bathroom in the same spot most of the time. Our new little guy (first gecko) has decided that his spot is in his warm hide. Is this ok? He spends most of his time in there and seems like it could be troublesome if he is so close to his waste all the time. What do y'all think? Anything I should do?

If it bothers you one thing you can do is move the poop to the coner you would like him to "go" in and leave it there for a day or two and eventually he should start going there. I trained one of mine this way although it might not work for all geckos.

Thanks for your reply. I don't know that it really bothers me, I just want to make sure it isn't any kind of health concern.

Both of mine like to go in their cool hides. Just clean it everyday. I get the poo up, then wipe the tile down with vinegar water. I also spray the hides with vinegar water then rinse them off since they keep the poo smell.

Yes, as long as it isn't his moist hide, then you'd have to worry about respiratory problems. But you should be fine.

One of mine did that in his moist hide I just kept cleaning it daily and making him get out for me to do it and he finally learned that if he pooed somewhere else he didn't get disterbed during his sleep time.
