I am working on a blazing blizzard Mack super snow project right now but im a little confused. I was thinking on breeding my snow with two BB females, but would the babies be het for bb only, or bb,albino, and blizzard.

If you breed a mack snow to a blazing blizzard you would get

50% Mack Snow, het Tremper, het Blizzard
50% Normal, het Tremper, het Blizzard

Blazing blizzard is just the commercial name for the albino blizzard, so the babies would be double het for albino and blizzard a.k.a het blazing blizzard. It's the same.

so when i breed the babies back to the mother(the blazing blizzard) the new babies should be snow blazing blizzards?

Some of them will be but not all. I’m assuming you will save a Mack, het Tremper, het Blizzard male, and sell the rest of the offspring. So the pairing you would have it

Mack, het Tremper, het Blizzard x Blazing Blizzard

12.5% Normal, het Tremper, het Blizzard
12.5% Tremper, het Blizzard
12.5% Blizzard, het Tremper
12.5% Blazing Blizzard
12.5% Mack Snow, het Tremper, het Blizzard
12.5% Mack Tremper, het Blizzard
12.5% Mack Blizzard, het Tremper
12.5% Mack Blazing Blizzard

All hets will be 100% with this pairing

Take into account that only half of the babies would be Macks. If you breed the ones that are Macks back to the mother you would get:

12.5% normals, het. albino, het. blizzard
12.5% blizzards, het. albino
12.5% albinos, het. blizzard
12.5% blazing blizzards (albino blizzards)
12.5% Mack snows, het. albino, het. blizzard
12.5% Mack snow blizzards, het. albino
12.5% Mack snow albinos, het. blizzard
12.5% Mack snow blazing blizzards

If you breed the normal ones (non-Macks) back to the mother, you would get:

25% normals, het albino, het blizzard
25% albinos, het blizzard
25% blizzards, het albino
25% blazing blizzards

Mack snow blizzards are quite difficult to tell apart from normal blizzards, and the same goes for Mack snow blazing blizzards and normal blazing blizzards so... Good luck.

Edited: Nicholas, we are always posting at the same time or what? lol :p

ok thanx guys so in your opinions which would be better, breeding my mack with 2 bb females, or breeding him with 1 snowbliz and 1 snowbino??

Well okay here is what you will get with those pairings.

Mack, het Blizzard, het Tremper x Blazing Blizzard

12.5% Blizzard, 50% het Tremper
25% Snow, het Blizzard, 50% het Tremper Albino
25% Snow Blizzard, 50% het Tremper Albino
12.5% Super Snow, het Blizzard, 50% het Tremper
12.5% Super Snow Blizzard, 50% het Tremper

Mack, het Blizzard, het Tremper x Snow Tremper

12.5% Normal, het Tremper, 50% het Blizzard
12.5% Tremper, 50% het Blizzard
25% Snow, het Tremper 50% het Blizzard
25% Snow Tremper, 50% het Blizzard
12.5% Super Snow, het Tremper, 50% het Blizzard
12.5% Super Snow Tremper, 50% het Blizzard

Personally IMO I would go with the two Blazing Blizzard females if I wanted my end result to be a Super Snow Blazing Blizzard. And a Mack Blazing Blizzard is like a $1,000 - $1,500 as far as I know (I really don’t think I’m over on this either, I believe I have seen them priced at this). A Super Snow Blazing Blizzard well lets just say that would cost. So I would just make one with the pairing you have right now. This is the breeding schedule I would go for.

P1 Generation

Mack x Blazing Blizzard
Save a male Mack, het Tremper, het Blizzard

F1 Generation

Mack, het Tremper, het Blizzard x Blazing Blizzard (2 Blazing Blizzard females)
If you get a Mack Blazing Blizzard save that, if not save the one that has as many genes as possible. Cook all eggs for male at this point until you get a confirmed Mack Blazing Blizzard. If you get a Mack Blazing Blizzard male, cook the rest of the eggs for female.

F2 Generation

At this point there is a couple of possibility. But let’s say you got one male Mack Blazing Blizzard, and you want to breed back the Mack Blazing Blizzard with the two female Blazing Blizzards you already have. Here is what you would get

Mack Blazing Blizzard x Blazing Blizzard

50% Mack Blazing Blizzard
50% Blazing Blizzard

I would cook all of these eggs for female, because if you get a mack blazing blizzard female, that gives you a MSBB (Mack Snow Blazing Blizzard) x MSBB pair next year

F3 Generation

MSBB x MSBB

25% Blazing Blizzard
50% Mack Snow Blazing Blizzard
25% Super Snow Blazing Blizzard

I would cook all of these eggs for male until you get a confirmed SSBB ( Super Snow Blazing Blizzard)

F4 Generation

SSBB x MSBB

50% MSBB
50% SSBB

I would then cook all of these eggs for female, this way you have a SSBB male and female. If you breed those two together then you can 100% SSBB

If you get the SSBB I would also breed him to the orignal BB females. This pairing would give you 100% mack blazing blizzard. I would cook all these eggs for female, which gives you more MSBB female to breed to the SSBB male next year, this allows you to produce more SSBB. Allowing you to pick the best stock for your breeding stock.

This would be what I would do, if I had the geckos that you do. It might not work out this easily, but it should be close IMO.

Also do you have pics of your pair? I would just really like to see them!

That is the thing you don’t. The only way to know for sure if a hatchling is het for a trait is if it is 100% het. If the gecko is either 66% or 50% you don’t know if it is het unless you test breed it.

You might want to take some time to go over these genetics pages as well, I think they would help you out a lot.

I think you’ll find that once you get the basic ideas of genetic, that it is really I very simple thing to understand.

Nice gecko btw :main_thumbsup:

Save yourself a few years and purchase a Mack Snow Albino and Mack Snow Blizzard breeding pair.

Het. snowc, Homozygous albino,
x
Het. snowc, Homozygous blizzard,

25% Het. albino, Het. blizzard,
50% Het. snowc, Het. albino, Het. blizzard,
25% Homozygous snowc, Het. albino, Het. blizzard,

Work towards a male and female Homozygous snowc, Het. albino, Het. blizzard and breed the siblings together giving...

Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Het. Blizzard,
x
Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Het. Blizzard,

6.25% Homozygous Snowc,
12.5% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Blizzard,
6.25% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Blizzard,
12.5% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino,
25% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Het. Blizzard,
12.5% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Homozygous Blizzard,
6.25% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino,
12.5% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino, Het. Blizzard,
6.25% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino, Homozygous Blizzard,

The phenotype of the hatchlings from this pairing will be SS, SS Albino, SS Blizzard and SS Albino Blizzard. The SS are easily identified, the SS Albino are easily identified and the SS Blizzard will be darker in appearance than the SS Albino Blizzards...paulnj posted some pictures showing the difference a while back.

Better yet if you can find a SS Blizzard het Albino and a SS Albino het Blizzard you can shortcut to this...

Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Homozygous Blizzard,
x
Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino, Het. Blizzard,

25% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Het. Blizzard,
25% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Homozygous Blizzard,
25% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino, Het. Blizzard,
25% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino, Homozygous Blizzard,
