Ok here is the deal. One of my beardies has been hiding in her hide for the last 3-4 days.... As far as i know she has not come out of her hide at all... Except i took her out to feed her some greens, she nibbled at them a bit then went right back into her hide... Is there something wrong with her, is there a reason that she would hide all the time? she is 2 years old and has never shown any behaviour like this before...

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated thanks

At this time of year (unless you live south of the equator) I would expect a beardie to spend a bunch of time basking. If that's not happening, there may be a problem. I recommend you consider the vet, but you can also check out beardeddragon.org to see if they have any suggestions.

I agree with Rockinar. Spending excessive amounts in the hide, particularly if it's on the cool side of the tank, is an indicator of parasites. I would definitely have a fecal done.

You may want to also double-check the temps in her cage to make sure they are good (80-85 cool side, 95-105 basking). What type of uvb bulb are you using and how old is it? Sometimes, just a slight adjustment to their environment can bring them out of a funk assuming she doesn't have parasites.

yeah my temps are fine 102-103 basking area and 83-84 degrees on the cool side. The bulb is a 50 what focused beam heat bulb, and for my uvb bulb is a repti-glo 2.0 full spectrum uvb bulb. Also she showed alot of improvement today out basking and running around and ate a bunch... so maybe the worst has passed i will just have to wait and see tomorrow...

I've heard bad things about the reptiglo brand. You might consider changing your bulb in the future. Many places I have read suggest a reptisun 10.0.

I agree fully with nrich. Ditch that repti-glo and put in a reptisun 10.0. The repti-glo isn't providing her with near the amount of UVB she needs.
