We went up for Columbia, SC Repticon to vend and I took my juv dragon along. Lacey traveled in a big deli inside the styro chest along with the other lizards to maintain temp, but went into a 15qt sterlite upon arrival, then on to the hotel for the night. I have a big heat panel that kept her nice and warm, and ordered a side dish at Cracker Barrel for her dinner. Tender cooked baby carrots, which she happily gobbled up. Next day at the show, she kept an eye on everything and got to socialize a bit. She was ecstatic with the big box of crickets I got for her. Saturday night she went to the USARK auction with us but slept thru the whole thing, covered up in her tub. It was a big day and she was tired. On Sunday, she saw another dragon propped up on it's own pillow, and seems to think she needs one also.
I'm glad Lacey did so well for the trip because I didn't feel comfortable leaving her alone for 3 days. Tho we didn't take along a light for her, she did just fine with her temporary setup. No noticeable stress.
With the holidays coming up, folks who have daily care animals should be looking at their options and making some necessary arrangements if animals are to be left at home during travel. Waiting till the last minute is asking for trouble. And have a plan B
