I really like to offer a variety. I have a few picky eaters who will only eat one thing, but the others will usually eat multiple things. I feed a staple of mealworms and dubia roaches. I've recently added in silkworms and I have a handful of picky eaters who love them. I occasionally feed waxworms (once a week or so). This year I've started giving my females a pinky after laying. Not all of them will eat them, but a few have. I only use frozen/thawed though. I've tried hornworms and no one shows interest. Butterworms were okay, but I had one eat too many and puke them up, so I don't buy them anymore. That was a year ago. I'm sure they'd do fine now, but I hate to chance it. She's never had a problem since with overeating. I tried phoenix worms, but no one will eat them either. They seem to like larger items and they were just too small.

I have a few petite geckos, but most of mine are pretty healthy (not obese, but sort of chunky). All of last years breeders gained their weight back plus added on some extra grams.:)

The two staples I feed are dubia roaches, and mealworms. On occasion I will feed crickets, but they usually get fed off to my leaftails before any can be used by my leo's. The only other thing I use, but only as a feeder to breeding females is pinkies. Thats about it for my feeding diversity. I raise my own roaches and my mealie colonies are just getting sustainable so I still buy 15,000 or more mealies a month depending on the part of the year.

Not sure on what is best for breeders ... I would expect each would be different based on their personal needs as well as the limitations for where they are raised.

I like to offer the feeders that we raise. Living in FL that rules out most of the roaches that everyone mentions. I have both mealworms and superworms going. However, the superworms did not produce as many as the mealworms.

Looking for another easy to breed "worm" type of feeder that both the bearded dragons and geckos would eat. The crickets didn't go well in the house... too much noise and smell.

I like variety as well. I try to keep all my geckos on a variety of couple kinds of roaches, regular mealies, supers, once a month order of crickets, and the occasional silk worms or Goliath worms. Once a year some of the females may get pinkies and if I have some extras smaller males will get em. That way when I am raising up the hatchlings they don't really become picky eaters they are used to a bunch of different things.

Right on! I'm with ya on this one... my geckos eat a variety of things, dubia roaches, mealworms, and crickets are the usual menu items.
