My beetles are dying off, but im not seeing any eggs or baby meal worms.

ive got around 30 beetles, over the past few days ive found 10ish dead..
They have all turned black, so i thought they were close to laying.

anyone have any ideas.

first your not gonna see any eggs at all unless there super worm eggs but those are really tiny to wait about a month and you will see baby mealies they are super small when they hatch and are almost impossible to see and for the beetles are you feeding them poatoe and apple and are you keeping them on a gutload

*******As per quoted above on egg sightings******
Dead Beetles....can mean either they did their job and croaked.
Or they croaked from dehydration and didn't do their job.

A must for a moisture item as orange, carrot, potato, apple, etc. to be in with your grain of choice. If you had some of these in with them...... look for grain movement later, rather than looking for eggs. That will be the tiny worm stage you see moving. .. take care HJ

Yeah, you won't see anything. Don't change the bedding, odds are they're in there. Eventually when you stir it up, you'll see the bedding move. These are the babies. Still probably too small to see, but you'll see movement. Be patient.

How long have you had the beetles? If they're still very new and die off quicky, my experience is that either they're too crowded (which is definately not your case) or humidity is too high.

ill just stick it out.. see what happens.. if nothing in a month. Think ill throw out and start again.

They have carrot, orange peel in for moisture, which i see then all huddled round, so they are eating.

Ill let you know if i get any progress.
