Hi,

as you all know last saturday it was Terraristika time again. Steve send again a big shipment to Germany. This time it was my job to deliver the geckos to the customers. When the geckos were at my house I had the chance to take some pics of some of those amazing animals in the shipment.

I got two beautiful Mack Snow females. One from Steve and one from Shelly (lizardlair.net). Both already shed. I'll post pics of them soon.

Those are someincredible photos! I really like the BEll Hybino eyes and the Blazing Blizzard smiling. I wonder what he was smiling at?

Nice pix. Could you perhaps tell us a little bit about your camera, set up - lighting, etc. I think it would be really informative.

thanks!!

I'd like to know how you "train" your geckos to stay still too, LOL. I have a hard time getting my geckos to stop for just 2 secs, so my old camera can focus properly....

Hi,

thank you all for all the nice coments!

This is the photo shooting table I use:

Before using the photo shooting table I worked with our living room lamp and that set up looked a bit different ;) :

It worked ok for me as well. But my mother wasn't so happy about the fact that I used the living room as a photo studio ;)
The photos were ok as well:

But to take better pics and to make it easier for me (and my mother) I decided to get me the photo shooting table.

wich kind of paper you use for the white background of your pics? the effect are really nice
so the background is just the glas of the photo shooting table.

The camera I use is the Olympus e-300 with a close up lense. The close up lense is doing a good job. Of course I would prefer a macro lense but it would cost nearly as much as the camera itself. So first I need to get me a good flash before investing in a macro lense. I hope that Santa read my wish list well ;)

I'd like to know how you "train" your geckos to stay still too, LOL.
Well I've worked with Leopardgeckos since 1998. And I've always loved to take pictures of them. So I know all the typical leopardgecko-movements and -reactions. And my own geckos are well trained from all the photo shootings of course ;)
Well with Steve Sykes' geckos I was lucky that the nicest ones were tame enough to be photographed.

Last tip: The best training is taking pics of the craziest juvies/babies. If you know how to get good pics of them you won't have a problem with most of the adults :)
