Tremper....

my female I got in 99 had similar eyes. The few babies I hatched out had the red pupil with red iris and with age their eyes began looking just like the posted gecko. FORTUNATELY, I sold my tremper albinos before I got a decent enough camera to document the trait further.

Curious, where'd the gecko come from? If a large chain pet store that rules out rainwater and bell lines...unless Mark Bell is supplying Petco and PetSmart with leos, but last I heard Gourmet Rodent and Ron Tremper had contracts and both of which work with the Tremper line.

This gecko came from a pet supplier for a local pet store that i used to work for. The owner ordered an albino, and I traded a for sure tremper albino for it. The two were quite different in markings, here's 2 pictures of the tremper I had before...and then the last picture is the one in question now, not too long after I first got her...

I say she's def. bell, all of my tremper eyes are much clearer looking, much less red eye things. I will introduce her to my Bell Hybino stud in May and find out !

Aside from the eyes, it looks 100% Tremper. Maybe because of the lower temps which resulted in the darker colors, the eyes ended up being darker and more vein-y. We have hatched some Trempers at lower temps that end up looking like that and their eyes are usually darker, not the regular Tremper look.

Tremper albinos....

timeframe 1999-2001

1 animal directly purchased from Ron 1999 (gecko on white sand)
1 animal directly purchased from Albey Scholl 2000 (photo of 2 geckos)
1 animal's image swiped from Albey Scholl's site (www.albeysreptiles.com) 1999 (November 13, 1999 to be exact [according to my external hard-drive] - female on blue background).

These are the best I can do for eye and body photos of Tremper albinos of way back when. The pair photo is to demonstrate variation of coloration BEFORE what we have today as Tremper albinos.

My vote is your gecko, as well as the original poster's, is a Tremper albino based on body and eye coloration.

DISCLAIMER: I no longer own the male and female Tremper albinos purchased from Albey Scholl and Ron Tremper, respectively. I do, however, own the above images and as such possess the copyright to them (a legal form of evidence); the exception is to the image noted from Albey Scholl. Proper usage of images taken from the internet as a citation source is where the image is from and date it was pulled from its source.

The ones out here are supplied by C.R.A.P.

C.R.A.P. = Ron Tremper, or Center for Reptile and Amphibian Propagation

Not sure who PetSmart here is supplied by, but I can easily find out.

I do know that Petco here is supplied by Gourmet Rodent.

I know the majority of pet store albinos are Tremper strain, but Reptile Industries (Mark Bell) does a lot of wholesaling to big chains as well.

The female albino in question on the thread could easily be either strain. :undecided:

Our petstores get there stuff from Gormet Rodent...

I voted Tremper (like I said before lol) just because the eyes look like the Tremer eyes we have on our here.

The petsmart where my little guy came from is supplied (at least sometimes) by Ron Tremper. I was told most definitely that my little Bell came on one of his shipments.

If what she said was true, then Center for Reptile and Amphibian Propagation must be doing something with the Bells too.
