I think you have...

a prime reason for buying from a reputable breeder that knows the genetics of what they're selling. Now you are left to test breed until you figure out what you have, which could leave you with normal geckos that you'll have no ideea which albino strain they are het for. Puting those on the market is in some peoples opinion unethical. my suggestion would be... to decide what strain of albino you would like to breed and find someone that's reputable and buy a pair off of them so you know exactly you'll be producing. As for the gecko in question I suggest not breeding it and just keep it as a pet. Just my opinion. Also my opinion, not a bell. :main_thumbsup:

Even reputable breeders will sometimes have geckos they are not sure about. Think of all the offspring from a test breed to prove out genetics. I thought it looked like a bell, but I pretty much suck at genetics. That's why we write stuff down. However, I don't know that test breeding is worth it if the girl was only bought as a pet to begin with. I will agree on that point. If you like your pet as a pet, and think she is beautiful, then who cares what albino strain she is?

You can't really ever know unless you breed it to a bell and if it doesn't prove out, then I'd try RW next. I know who you got it from I think. lol. The place that went out of business?

Indeed, the place that went out of business.

She was bought mainly as a pet. I intended to breed for about a week, until I realized that I love my geckos as pets and didn't want to turn it into a job or a chore. Especially with the economy the way it is. The more I learn about the market for the leos, the better I feel about my decision not to start breeding right away.

I was just curious about her strain of albino because I haven't seen too many bells that are as bright as she is, or that have the veiny eyes.
