I'm not usually a person who gives a rip about Christmas gifts, but this year I got something too great not to talk about.
I have been a legal secretary for about 12 years and am used to getting and receiving generic/girlie gifts (like candles, picture frames, etc.) from my bosses. I started working at my current job this summer, so I really wasn't expecting anything.
The Friday before Christmas my bosses all gathered outside of my cubicle with a gift bag. It was obviously a gift card/certificate of some sort and they were freaking me out a little the way they were hovering to watch me open it. It didn't take long to find out why - they gave me a $150 certificate to an AMAZING tattoo shop here in Kansas City. I was so excited I jumped up and hugged everyone like a big dork.
One of my attorneys has a great piece on his leg and tattoo discussions came about when he saw a little one I have on the back of my neck when I first started working here (I also have a small tribal on my ankle and two geckos across my back).
I'm still trying to figure out what to get. I have a million ideas, but only so much $$$ to spend. I would also like it to be semi-viewable so I can at least show the people who bought the darn thing what I got, but working where I do there is a limit to how much ink can be shown.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling post. I'm just stoked knowing I can get whatever I want and that I work for some really awesome people!!!
