We hav a female harlequin crested gecko. I'm just wondering if they bite? I've never been bitten by her or my males and my bf hasn't either but his brother (13) went to grab her off a shoulder and he claims she bit him and freaked out. We didn't see anything but I'm curious...

they aren't especially renowned for being bitey;but if they do,they exhibit a surprising amount of jaw pressure. the vast majority of bites won't break the skin, they'll just hurt. I was surprised as all hell the first time a crestie bit me (a female olive green patternless, that was just a generally crabby gecko to begin with),the bite pressure seemed wildly disproportionate to the gecko's size. kinda like getting your fingertip caught in a pair of vise-grip pliers, almost. Gargoyle bites hurt even more, almost on par with Tokays.

Yep they bite, and like jet said, they bite a lot harder than you would think. Mine drew blood from my finger once, but there were no cuts that I could find, so it was like he just squeezed the blood out. Pretty painful, and good luck getting them to let go...

Eeeek. Everyone be careful as far as bites are concerned. Stressful for both the owner and the gecko :(
