Well I had to take Artemis back to PetCo. No improvement on feeding and not going to the bathroom. So I got my money back. I finally got some tile for Merlin's tank and it was cheap and looks great. He seems to enjoy it so far. I may get a bearded dragon after my vacation. Don't know yet. Depends on how I do on my final tomorrow, lol.

Thanks guys. It's sad but maybe someone else will have better luck than me. I just hate that it will go back on sand though. Especially given how tiny it was! But I hope if I do well on my final that I may get a bearded dragon! :)

I'm sorry you had to take it back, but from what I remember about your posts when you got Artemis, it was probably a good decision.

Yea it was just frustrating because Merlin has no issues eating. Well lately he's been picky about crickets for some reason. Only eating mealworms, oh well. As long as he eats, that's what matters to me. And going to the restroom just fine. Temps are great, and will be even better with the tile I hope! It was so funny the other night, he was half way out of his hide (3 in 1 cave), and went face plant into the mealworm bowl and went "Omnomnom!" LOL

I think you made the right decision to return the less than healthy animal. It's really heartbreaking to get a new pet and have to run to the vet because something is wrong with it, follow a vet's instructions, only to have it suffer and die. Unfortunately they all can't be saved. By returning it, you have sent a message to the pet store that unhealthy reptiles are not acceptable to sell. This is a good thing. It may sound cold but, I truly wish more people would do this instead of struggling with pet shop "rescue" purchases. Too many times these animals end up infecting others and things can get out of control before a problem is detected. I'm sorry you had to go thru this but hopefully next time around things will go great.
