Black heat lamp

Hey guys so I have a black heat lamp and it purple and wondering how long should it be on night and day or does it need to be off on night or day and how long

Leopard geckos don't need a light. If you can provide an area with sunlight, that's all they need to tell when it is day/night, but not directly in front of a window. A ceramic heat emitter is best for supplemental heat.
