I havetwo different problems in both of his eyes. One of his eyes has a standard eye infection and is being treated. The other eye has this crud (I don't know if it's shed or what, but it has a dark yellow color). I've tried to shove the crud out with a moist cotton swab bit I've had no luck. My vet emailed me and told me to try mineral oil. Has anyone else tried this? Were you successful? And he also can't eat, so my vet reccomended Turkey baby food. Should there be a special formula? Blaze just sheds bit ago so he has eaten something. Well, reply if you can. Thanks. -Henry

No idea if its a similar condition but my gecko had yellow crud in his eye - I think it was stuck shed or possibly crusty pus from an infection. The first time I brought him to the vet the Dr thought it was his eye that had been eaten by the infection but it turned out not to be. The vet gave me some terramycin ointment to keep the stuff moist and after about a month of treatment 2x a day and a warm bath every other night it popped off and his eye was there.

As for food I might check out the gecko slurry that's a sticky in this thread. I think that might be better than turkey baby food but definitely not as easy...

I can't help with the eye thing, but I'm not sure about the baby food idea. I can't personally state it for sure, but I know I've been told that baby food has preservatives in it that can be harmful to geckos. Unless you're going to go with organic.

there is an eye ointment that iv used before its called "Lacri-Lube Eye Ointment"
it is a mineral oil specially used for eyes. it worked well.
it should soften the "crud" enough to be removed naturally or by the vet. i would never recommend poking around with eyes your self.
