I have a Gecko girl that seems bloated.
She looks very plump and to the touch her belly is pretty hard.
She has a couple crickets in with her and about 20 meal worms.. She usually doesn't eat crickets but she loves meal worms.. When I first put them in she ate two and walked away.
Anyways I'm worried about her.
I put her and my other gecko together the other day but I'm 80% sure they're both females and my mom watched them the whole time to make sure they were okay together while I cleaned one of their terrarium.
Oh also, she just shed. Like. a few hours ago. Her color isn't as bright as it normally is.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on with my little love?
Thank you..

This is an older picture of her.
She isn't very old. Def no more than 8 months I think.

Your sure they are both female? How long have you had them together? Have you owned both for a while and where did you acquire them? Need a bit more info. Would help if you filled out health questionnaire in the health and medication stickies.

It could be a variety of things that could be caused by anything from egg bound to compaction. If you aren't sure 100 percent on sex she could very well be getting ready to lay eggs. Also besides filling out the questionnaire, try to get some good pics of her belly. It will help to see why you are seeing. This could be a serious matter, so the sooner you fill that out the sooner we can direct you to either a cause or to going to the vet to get it checked out.

Well I just took her out and gave her a little bath. I think that I need to put the heating pad back under her tank.
Since I gave her a warm bath right when I put her back in her tank she took a huge doodee.
I looked at both of there butt areas and I'm 99% sure now that they're both female.
When I look in her belly I don't see any oval shapes or anything so I think she's just constipated.
I've had both for 5 months now about.. and I got them from a chain pet store as youngins.
I've only ever put them together for that 10 minutes.
I DID have sand in her tank for about a months but I'm not really worried that she consumed much of it at all cause I never fed her crickets and the meal worms were always in a bowl.
I didn't know about the sand until that day and I took it out immediately.

If you don't have a 90-95 degree warm spot in the tank where the gecko can lay and warm its belly that could be the root of the whole issue. Proper heating is important for digestion. Without it the gecko can have partially digested food in its digestive tract that can begin to go bad.

Yea. You need to put the heat pad back on the bottom. They NEED that to digest their food, absorb the nutrients and maintain a healthy immune system. It is VERY important. You also need to regulate it and monitor it to make sure it is the proper temperature. I use a HydroFarms thermostat that you can get on Amazon for around $30 shipped. I also check the temps once or twice a day with an infrared digital thermometer to make sure everything is ok. You can also use a Lutron Lamp Dimmer that you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot for around $10. You have to monitor that REALLY closely though as the temp can fluctuate ALOT.
