Bloody Throw Up/Poop

My leopard gecko doesn't ever shed very well so today I gave her a bath to get the shed off. I used water with a little bit of Reptile-Bath Shed-Ease by Zilla. After I put her back in her cage she threw up or pooped blood (I'm not sure which because I didn't see it happen). Is this related? Should I be concerned now or wait to see if it happens again?

are you sure if it is blood?

regardless if your gecko is pooing blood or regurgitating it, your gecko needs to see a vet ASAP

i have no idea if this shed stuff has anything to do with it but right now that really does not matter

a vet visit ASAP is what is needed.

I am not sure if the Zilla Shed Ease would have caused the blood, as my two blizzards are very bad for not taking the shed off their toes and I had to start giving them Shed Ease baths because the skin from the shed was never easy to remove with regular baths. But I have seen them lick the waters with no ill effects to them.

I would watch the next poop and if it has blood in it, get your gecko to a vet.

Thanks for the advice, guys. Unfortunately she died before I could even take her to the vet on Monday. :-(

I would be curious to know what would cause a bloody stool. I received a rescue that pooped blood when we got home and died over night before I could get her to the vet. I'm sure the people that put her up for rescue knew something was wrong with her. I curse the previous owners all the time. But if it didn't happen, I would have never fallen in love with leos and wouldn't have gotten two more :)

I had a Savannah monitor gave to me once and she was coughing up blood. I took her to the vet and it turned out that the people that had her before me, didnt keep her warm enough and she couldnt digest her food, it rotted on her stomach and caused an infection that didnt get any better cause they wasnt treating it. So her stomach was rotting on the inside. Hense the blood. What temps were you keeping your gecko ?

That's really awful! The temperature in her cage was generally between 90-92 on the warm side.

many times blood in the poo or puke or even coming out other orifices suggests the animal is hemorrhaging and that is why they die so quickly :(
