The problem... with this one... is that she seems incapable of understanding just how much she has learned and how much she has not. She does not "research" to know the whole of a thing, she finds some tidbit that she doesn't really understand, takes it out of context and injects it into places it doesn't belong. Places where she doesn't belong, except perhaps as an observer and a student. How many husbandry threads is she going to write something dangerous on? How many health threads is she going to try to diagnose crypto in? How many behavior threads is she going to misinform and mislead someone who themselves doesn't know enough to separate the good information from the bad? How many times is she going to touch the edges of libel?

Look at this thread... look at it! She found a webpage where Ron Tremper detailed his experiences with an anomalous color a couple seasons ago and she had the temerity, the sheer audacity, to presume to pass judgment on him. There have been a couple threads lately where some members here have been a bit critical of some of his marketing decisions; he's not above reproach, not above question... but those members who had been critical had damn well earned the right to have an informed opinion and further, they were all quite specific in expressing their distaste for some of his decisions and making that distinct from the sum and total accomplishments of the man himself.

An informed opinion is the furthest thing from what this brat has. She runs at the mouth, half cocked, fueled by her own bloody minded ignorance; spewing misinformation and misconceptions all the while. Look at what she had to say in this thread, look at what she provided as proof of her position!

The mark on a fresh hatchling where the yolk sack is attached and the act of line breeding! These are her evidence of villainy! These are her basis for trying to tear down the accomplishments of Ron Tremper, the man who literally wrote the book, the man who contributed so much to propelling forward the idea of leopard geckos as pets, who touted their good qualities, who was at the front line of determining how they could best be kept alive and healthy, who built up the interest in the morph game that so many find so fascinating to this day... he wasn't alone in this, but he was a pillar of it all, first among equals and so on.

And this contemptible, ignorant, unsupervised nuisance of a child, spits out this to describe the man-

She probably will "never know" because she's constantly going off half cocked and doesn't know her ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to any herpetocultural subject. She's too damn busy causing problems to actually learn anything. She is one individual who should not be encouraged, because she will misunderstand and misuse anything she thinks she knows, the living embodiment of a little knowledge doing more harm than good.

This isn't the first time this has come up either, the first time she's been told that she's wrong, that she's not in a position to try to educate, that she needs to shut her goddamn mouth and learn before she tries to teach or judge. It has not sunk in yet, it won't sink in now. Because she's a spoiled brat, with parents that have clearly never told their pwecious widdle angel that she's imperfect, who have never told her that she starts in a state of abject ignorance and needs to make a genuine effort to rise out of it, that she needs to respect those who know more, have done more, who understand more than she does. She really doesn't see the difference between what she knows and what Ron Tremper knows... and her attitude is such that she never will.

Meanwhile, thanks to her inattentive, absent parents, we get stuck having to sift through her regular bouts of inane bullshit because Geckoforums.net is apparently her substitute babysitter. She doesn't need supervision while she's online, the community can simply handle it. Handle the misinformation. Handle the lies. Handle the gross stupidity. Handle the nuisance. Handle the crap that flows forth from her keyboard day after day, post after post, forcing the rest of us to police everything she writes and take the time to correct the more egregious offenses, to ensure that nobody else wanders along and takes her seriously.

So... no. No, she should not research more. Not if it means she will keep on doing what she's been doing. What should happen is that someone... like maybe Ron Tremper there... should send a cease and desist letter to her idiot parents, letting them know just what kind of liability their spawn is setting them up for when she posts such offal on a public message board. See if it shakes them up enough so that they actually do the job they signed up for when they failed to operate a condom properly.

Pretty much everything I wanted to say, but didn't feel it was my place to. What pisses me off most with her is when she starts a thread and people correct her, yet she never comes back to it to respond that she was wrong. ( I suspect this will be another one of those btw.) Yeah, I agree with everything said here Seamus. She should be banned from offering advice on this site as it will eventually, if it hasn't already, be accepted by some poor person looking for real help and could cause damage to a gecko that can't be reversed or worse.
