Not sure what the Scientific name is. But this is my Big Boy.

He charged me after I took the first picture, he really didn't like the flash. Glad I am quick at closing the door, if he would have gotten hold of the camera it would have been destroyed.

Nice iguana, but Iguanas are tree dwellers. They should have more hight in there cage with lots of branches to clime and bask on. My iguanas enclosures are 6ft high 6ft long and 4 ft wide. I would actually like to have them 6ft wide but I don't have the room right now. That looks like a mix between a rino iguana and a green iguana. not sure. I'm also against hybrids. Maybe the care for them are different. I wouldn't know. Please don't take this as being rude. Just trying to help. :main_yes:

Brandy, He is a Lewisi Hybrid, they are terrestrial Iguanas, no tree climbing for them.

Brandy, there is no Green Iguana in him, you can't even breed a Blue Iguana to a Green Iguanas ...LOL
"The two species are very different, and can not breed together. They don't even speak the same "language" -" This article can be found on: http://www.blueiguana.ky/bluevsgreen.htm

As for the Hybrid part, he is only a pet and will not be bred, I think the reason that people are making Hybrids is because the Blue Iguana is on the brink of extinction, again, this is just a guess, don't quote me on it.

"Cyclura lewisi - Grand Cayman Blue Iguana. Grand Cayman Island
Until recently considered a subspecies of C. nubila, this species is the most critically endangered of all Cyclura. The wild population, numbering only 10-25 individuals, may be functionally extinct. About 100 lizards exist in captivity, but habitats into which captive reared animals could be released are scattered, marginal in quality, and vulnerable to further alteration. A new recovery plan has been developed and is currently being implemented."

Igaunas are beautiful lizards, but often much more than the average keeper can handle if they don't know what they are getting into. Personally i will probably never keep one, but they are indeed beautiful.

Beautiful Iggy Jeanne
and thanks for the info on them
I agreer that is very sad and I would also never choose an Iggy fir a pet
It seems that a lot of people that have them have had them wander into their lives
