This is 'stormy', our blizzard male, with solid black eyes. This one is about 2 months old, and weighing 17 grams. His tail looks on par for his age, but his body looks huge for his age? Is it just me seeing this?

The weight sounds about right, in my opinion. My 4 month Blizzard weighs 35 grams. He is my little tank!!

some grow in weird spurts. I've noticed the big body myself too, the level out eventually. I thought the same thing though until about 2 weeks later that feast transitioned to storage in the tail and looked and acted 100% normal. By any chance was this a picky eater that all the sudden found it's appetite? I think that was the case with the one I had that did this, transitioning from crickets to worms sometimes takes awhile.

I think he looks very good.

You only need to worry if the body is "out of shape": fat, swollen belly and thin tail. Then, something is wrong. I bought such a gecko once at the Wheaton show from a snake guy: Mayflower. She died two days after the show of internal bleeding. She bled on the paper towel, too.

I posted about this in Sept. 2010 when I got her, because I was worried about the swollen belly, but then I thought maybe it's because she ate some wax worms, and that made her look fat. But the tail shouldn't have been that thin, in sharp contrast to her bloated belly.

So if yours looks well proportioned overall, the little boy just has childhood fat and will grow out of it :main_yes: :D It's unlikely he can get impacted on your paper towels ;)

Correct, he went a week after the move with no food and started munching down big time the past few days and has gained 6 grams in a matter of days. Our murphys has gained 8g since the move as well, she's going to be a huge girl and will be the mate of this blizzard, banana blizzards in the works :D

I love the fact that the top half of his body stayed pink, while the bottom half of him is becoming a dark grey. I'm hoping it stays that way, though I expect him to mature to a full grey body :p

The darker color you see at the bottom part of his body is caused most likely by the intestines that shine through :main_yes: That's not skin color. He's not half-half :main_laugh: You can expect him to be uni-colored when he's an adult.

Actually, if you look at him in person, it is a tint on the top layer of his skin :p

Never have I seen it before, but it is in fact skin that color, and continues all the way down his tail.
