Can someone please help explain the genetics behind the Bold Stripe, Reverse Stripe, and Bandit morph? They've always been sort of a mystery to me. I heard that Bold Stripe is recessive... but I'm not entirely sure. As for Rev. Stripe and Bandit... I have no clue.

Any help would be appreciated :)

A reverse stripe is a gecko that has a dark stripe down the middle of the back, as opposed to more common striped pattern that has 2 stripes, one on each side of the middle of the back.
I don't know that anyone is sure of stripe genetics. Some people feel there is a genetic component and some feel that it's totally a line-bred trait --put your best stripes together to get more stripes. All I know is that I have a banded tremper albino who, when paired with a striped gecko, usually produces upwards of 50% jungles and stripes. This season he was also paired with a snow blizzard gecko whose exact genetic heritage was otherwise unknown, and produced a number of babies with jungle tails and one that I could actually call a jungle. THis banded male, by the way, was born in 2004, before stripes were that common.

The reverse stripe in the other post may have been born with a single dark stripe down the back and it has now broken up into what looks like 2 stripes. On the other hand, I just sold a gecko that was born as a patternless red stripe and then developed 2 parallel lines of dots on either side of her back.
