that is not a bold stripe because first off its a jungle and second off the jungle part is broken up. so it would be a jungle snow but not a bold jungle snow

I'm still slightly confused...I thought jungle by definition is broken, bold has to do with the thickness of the melanistic markings...if it were an unbroken line, wouldn't that make it a bold stripe?

Sorry if I'm being obtuse...not trying to be rude...I know you know bolds, Robin, I didn't realize there was such a hair-splitting difference between bold stripes and bold jungles? And non-bold jungles??

I would still consider this gecko to be a stripe, it just isn't a bold stripe. Some would consider it to be a jungle due to the left stripe being broken, but it's neckband is unbroken which technically doesn't qualify it as a jungle either. The tail is definitely striped! If you crossed this gecko with another stripe or a bold stripe, you would get primarily striped offspring.

non bs animals dont get that pattern on the tail.
Sure they do! I have produced LOTS of non-striped jungles with completely striped tails. The reason this gecko is not considered a bold stripe is because the stripe is not BOLD. It is broken up, and not well-defined. Here are examples of bold stripes:
