Hi everyone,

Does anybody know of a book where I could learn about the genes of leopard geckos also how previous crosses where done overseas so I can make some new morphs for us South Africans.

Thanks a million,

If you mean on creating a new combo morph, that is very possible, there are still combinations left to be done, and there will be new morphs to combine. Don't get your hopes up on coming across a new morph yourself though.

To create a super snow, both parents have to be a snow, but one has to be a MACK snow. I don't think line bred snows create Supers, but I'm not 100% sure.

TUG Snow X TUG Snow = 3/4 snows 1/4 normals
Gem Snow X Gem Snow = 3/4 snows 1/4 normals
Mack Snow X (any strain) snow = 1/4 Super Snows, 1/2 snows, 1/4 normals.

Does that help?

the percentages on Tug snow and Gem snow crosses isnt always the same. Het animals and homo animals look the same in gem and tug snows( or so "they" say) and your percentages only account for het animal x het animal. If one of your dominate snow morphs were homozygous then all of the offspring would be that line of snow

Also, from my understanding, the percentages for mack x dominate snow crosses has been all over the place and doesnt fit the 1:2:1 ratio of mack x mack, though i havent done the crosses myself... so i cant speak from experience on this.

Outside of north america, your best bet of a snow morph is definitely the mack snow.
