do you have an eye shot of the father? he looks tremper to me at a quick glance. and if the mother is the one on the left, she looks like a patternless to me. did you produce the parents or get them from someone?

If the father is a Bell, then the Mother is a Patty het Bell and the baby is a Bell het Patty.

The mother doesnt look like a Banana Blizz to me, just a MP. I'm fairly sure the albino strain here is Bell because of the hatchlings eyes, but they eyes do change so to be sure could we get a shot of the fathers eyes?

The male is 150% a Bell. The only way this can play out is that You have a Patty het Bell x Bell. It's that simple. You have a Bell het Patty and double hets.

Apparently people put more stock into eye shots then educating themselves on the characteristics of the different albino strains. IE Color and Body shape. I have no doubt from my experience that you have a Bell and a Murphys Patternless het Bell.

wow, sorry but that picture isn't exactly that clear. and i have had several tremper albinos that were pale and looked exactly like that. i agree that the baby's eyes look bell, but an eye shot is an almost definitive way to id the albino strain. my concern was the the OP was asking if it was a tremper albino when he clearly stated the male was a bell.

Being educated and being thorough in examination of an animal are obviously not synonymous. For one, the only albino strain I have ever worked with in my projects is the Bell Albino. I love them. I've worked with and produced such a variety of Bells that I would personally not feel comfortable putting an exact body type or color/pattern description on them. I have had multiple Bells that followed the classic, as you say, "Color and Body shape" of a Tremper Albino. Along with that, I have had animals that I was told should not be bred with Bells because they were Tremper... no, they were Bells. When dealing with animals that I do not know the history of, and especially ones that I have only seen in photographs (we all know how deceiving the camera can be) I do not feel right telling a person "this is what you have - no iff's and's or butt's. I'm right." Like many others who have worked with this strain, I have found that the most sure-fire way to determine if an animal is indeed a Bell Albino is by the eyes. I'm sorry if you do not like to play on the safe side or be 100% thorough, but this person wants to know the genetics of their animals and personally, I wouldn't feel right if I hadn't explored every corner and crossed out every possibility before giving them my educated opinion.

I can understand how someone can be confused about the exact strain of albino sometimes. I have always been told the way to be 100% sure is too look the eye. Not only the color of the eye but the veins as well. It does help if you have worked with them before.

It does take time to understand all the "characteristics" of all the different morphs as well. It comes with experience. Some people have more experience and some have less. But no matter how well you know something there is still a chance you can be wrong. No one is perfect by all means.

I would be interested in seeing an eye shot to.

Bell Hybino... Mom is obviously carrying a dominant hypo gene... She could also be a true Banana Blizzard i.e. Patternless Blizzard because to me she doesn't look like a patty except for the tail... Like Ryan mentioned some morphs can have a unique body structure and from head to butt she looks like a Blizzard to me...

Dear friends, please help me understand how to correctly identify tremper from bell.
In a previus post I asked if my mack albinos where really mack and what albino morph they belonged.
Everybody said they where tremper because bell's eyes are pinkish in color with clear red veins.
But looking to Nanne's gecko eyes and to my gecko eyes (especially the female) - http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=70874 - I became confused.
Don't they seem very similar?

What do you think?

Thanks.

nannefree - The father is a Bell Albino, and in this new picture the mother does appear to be a Banana Blizzard (I'm assuming the picture posted before is one of her when she was younger?) Sooo.. Your little Bell Albino baby is het for both Blizzard and Murphys Patternless :)

Doctor Gecko - Your lovey is indeed a Tremper Albino. I understand that it can be hard to distinguish the subtle differences, but stick with it! You will soon learn just by reading other's threads, looking at pictures, and studying articles :)
