Both of my males are slowly losing weight. I cant figure out why. Is it the stress of the breeding season?

Are they too close together in the rack?

They were gaining slowly when they were in aquariums. Ever since my switch to a rack they have lost weight. My females are growing, but my males are shrinking. They get the same diet, the same attention, the same care, but the males lose weight.

I dont have the space to move them into their own 10g tanks

I am not sure what to do here... They don't seem to have voracious appetites either.

What are the temps in you racks? Also, how much closer to the females are they than when they were in their tanks?

Males can get very stressed out during breeding season and go off food, especially when they smell the female pheromones.

Just about all my males lose weight during breeding season. THey're all breeding with the females in display tanks, though, not separated in racks. My biggest one was up to about 113gr. in the late fall and is now down to 95. This is normal for him. He'll be right back up there in Oct.

belly temp is 90 hot side and the cool side is like 80ish

they are close enough to the females I guess that it keeps them stressed out
