Hello, im new to the site so this is my first post.

Today i bought a new female gecko, she's a tremper albino, but she has one blind eye, the guy told me she was born like that, and i was wondering if that can happen, or the gecko has some kind of disease in the eye.

Her eye, looks dull, and her iris is white, like someone who has cataract.
Her other eye is normal, she eats, and looks pretty healthy other than that(good size and fat tail)she was pretty active too like my other leo, she explored around, and even ate 7mealworms, even tho she just moved in..i was kinda expecting some kind of shyness but she's fine.

Anyways if anyone could give me an answer on this it would be nice. Also she closes that eye often, and the eye looks dry, compared to the other who has reflections and is bright.

I took a picture but unfortunately i don't have my camera cable atm :S, i will try to find it and post a picture.

Edit: Here are the pics.

Welcome to GF. It does kind of look like a cataract. If they guy you bought her from is trustworthy and it's been exactly the same since birth and she's able to hunt, then I guess it's probably not an infection or other contagious problem. I see from the first picture that your new gecko is in with another one. If you bought them together from the same place that's fine, but if you already had the other one, they really should not be together until they've been quarantined from each other for at least a month.

hey there mate welcome.
It is possible for this to happen. It may have been like that from birth, a juvenile accident or just a disease but don't worry too much about it mate. As long as your gecko is happy, eating and active thats all you can hope for. Just enjoy your geckos and let them do their thing. A gecko like this in the wild would not have the same care that you show to them so you are doing a great thing. Keep it up and enjoy

Yes i bought them both from the same guy, they are both females, i keep my other one in another vivarium, since hes quite younger. Physically they are both healthy, active, and eat alot. Just wanted to make sure about that eye problem.

Do you think there is a way to cure that or should i let her live with it?
