Don't know if anyone else has gotten excited about this but man I am! :main_yes: Season here in Missouri opened up on Tuesday! :main_thumbsup:I have been shooting my bow for the past 2 months anticipating the opening day. Got my cloths washed, bag packed, and bow all tuned for the woods. Two months ago I got in all my tree stands and cut some limbs back in all of them so I can hunt the first chance i get. Also cleared out some shooting lanes to hopefully catch some big bucks that didn't wanna come out of the brush. I sure need to cure my venison craving right now and get some good steaks in the freezer as well as some deer jerky and summer sausage. I'd like to see who all hunts here at GF! Surely there is someone else just as excited as a school boy as I am.

Gotta admit, I miss the freezer full of venison. We had some cube steaks last year that was nothing short of AMAZING!
Hubby and his buddies have been known to climb up on the roof to practice shooting downwards at targets.
I swear, ya'll are like a bunch of giddy girls getting ready for prom! :D

Good luck, Justin! The only thing these guys have brought home lately is poison ivy.

:main_laugh: Ya I like my comparison to a school boy instead of a school girl, lol, even though sometimes I scream like a school girl on a successfull hunt. I love venison and my favorite way to cook it is battered up and fried with some salt and pepper. I love the game taste too so the more the better for me! I go bow hunting at least 20 times a season. Its kinda hard to do with work, school, and dozens of critters at home but hey I do anything to get 20 foot up in a tree with my bow. Theres something peacefull about getting away from everyone and just seeing nature in its purest form even if you don't see or get anything!:main_thumbsup:

My husband is 42 and still bounces around like a ballerina when he comes in with a cooler filled with white packages. He's giggling like a girl and telling me to come look how pretty they are :D

They went deep sea fishing the other day and caught a 36 pound Cobia. You would have thought he'd won the lottery. I think I've heard the story of how it was caught 20 times now.
:main_rolleyes:
