What is the ideal humidity percent for rainbow boas? I've heard as high as 90-100% and as low as a large water bowl plus misting only when in shed.

To me that's a large radiant. What's the ideal range?

I actually got one last week. I thought that I had the humidity right, but now I'm seeing different humidity percents. I thought I had done all the research that I needed before I got her, but continued searching for more info and found differing humidity opinions. I'm a little OCD on researching; I research tons before and after, then end up confused bc in most cases my after research will contradict my before.

The guy I got her from said spray during shed and offer a large water bowl, but I knew that wasn't 100% right before I got her. I saw 90-100% humidity, and I've seen 60-75%. The guy said that 90-100% would cause scale rot when I asked him about that. I'm starting to lean toward 60-75%, but I knew I'd seen a few people on here with BRB's and was curious as to what they thought was healthiest.

She is more of an adoption, now that I actually have her in my hands. I knew she had problems shedding her eyecaps before I bought her, but I didn't realize how bad it was. I am attributing it to the fact that the guy only kept them them with large water bowls and only misted during sheds. She was the last from the litter, as he kept her due to eyecap retention. One eye looks like a normal retained eyecap, but the other is more sunken in like from repeated problems. I've got the humidity pretty high right now, and she seems to be loving it. I found her last night half buried in the substrate.

Oh, and she's definitely a F/T feeder. I fed her yesterday and she snapped it up quick.

She's not a super red or brilliant BRB, but something about her I had to have.. I think it's the retained eyecaps and I just knew I could help her.... I still want a super nice one, but I've got my hands full right now. I do know who I'm buying from when I have the space and I'm ready to spend some cash.

I hope her shedding gets better for you. I'm pretty sure I know which breeder I want to buy from, too. I just don't know when I'll get one.

I'm hoping she will... Which breeder are you looking at? Rainbows-r-us is who I'm considering. I shot them an email before i took on this girl and they seem pretty nice. In a way, I'm kicking myself for not getting the last female they have, but this girl needed proper care and something about her kept in my mind.

So... Anyone know the best humidity? Should I just stick with around 75%ish?

Dave Colling, the same breeder.:) He seems great and has gorgeous snakes. Their BOI posts are excellent.
