Ok, so most of what I have read is that you place the eggs in a container (medium of ones choice, etc).....place the lid on it and open it up every couple of days to allow for air exchange to take place.

Question is: At what point does one leave the lid completely off or pop a couple of holes in the container as the date that the little fella decides to come out and join our world will vary depending on a lot of factor (temp, ect.). What I don't want is to come back to it a day later and I have suffocated a new baby.

Would it be safe to say that you should pop a couple of wholes on the side of the container at or about the 30 day mark in anticipation of the eventual date to arrive?

I take a pen and pop two holes in all my containers from day one and then set and leave, I never reopen the container accept to put more eggs in. I'll do a thread eventually on how I do it, it's similar to Gregg's method but with some variation.

I use Albeys method which means I don't have air holes and I open the container every week and/or to put new eggs in. There is enough air in there for the new baby. Mine have all been fine in the container when they hatch.

Scenario 1: OK, so placing a couple of holes in the container should not affect the humidity level too much then or do i keep an eye on it so that it does not get too dry?

Scenario 2: So by not having a hole in the container, then I am assuming that the little fella should be fine by the time I get home from being away at work (12hours)? That is a lot of time.

I have read and looked into a lot of threads but have not found one that definitive way to handle this very last portion of incubation prior to its appearance into our world.
