Hey, so I have always been curious .. I've seen some people house their geckos in "breeding colonies" 1 male with 2+ females ..

if a female becomes gravid, would they have to take her out so she can have her space to lay her eggs? or can they leave her in there? would the male eat the eggs?

Usually in breeding colonies, people leave the females together and they lay their eggs in a big lay box. A lot of bigger breeders do this.

Others keep all their females separated. IMO if the females are getting along and have always been housed together, they won't have a problem laying eggs together.

Oh thats pretty neat,

What if there is a male inside with all the females? would that cause a problem? ( the male eating the egg)

I keep 1.2 together for the entire breeding season. The females lay their eggs in the lay box and bury them. They often stay in the laybox with them for quite awhile. I keep an eye on the females so I know who's about to lay and catch them pretty soon after they've laid. I've never had trouble with the male or any of the females eating the eggs. The worst problem I've had is when I found 2 females in the lay box with 4 freshly laid eggs. I was pretty sure whose was whose because of where they were in the box and they were different enough in terms of morph that I'd know which babies were whose when they hatched anyway.
