I was fortunate enough to catch my female laying her eggs last season, and actually had a camera on hand. So I snapped a few photos. I'm gonna throw in some other breeding related images as well. THses pictures are old, but I never shared them with GF members...

First, I lifted up the lid to her "3-in-1 hide" and saw her sortof squatting over a hole she dug.

Then she drops both of her eggs right in front of me!

Here you can see her rolling the eggs with her back leg, I belve this is to camoflage them from predators.

Since then, she has gained conciderable weight, and is now thriving. That was what laying 10 eggs her first season must have done to her...

I want to ask You something. Is there any signs before egg lying? Female stops eating or smth?

I sure was... It was around 8 in the morning, and I was expecting the eggs to already be layed. I lifted it up with the camera ready, and was just in the right place at the right time... Great learning experience!
