breeding my own

Hey, I am new to this forum, but I am already posting and commenting like crazy!!

Anyway, I am sick of buying over one thousand five hundred crix every month, so I am breeding my own.I am also breeding mealies along w/ the crix.

The cricket breeding started with five dozen, then I added a thousand to that. They were chirping in the box so I added the egg laying container as soon as I had them in the bin.I have had them for a while and have a few hundred pinheads hatching out in the separate hatching bin. I also have another egg laying bin twice the size of the first bin.

The meal worm breeding project started out OK.I had one thousand, then I had to feed off half of that. Then, I bought another thousand. I have three pupa so far, and most of the others are on the edge of changing into pupa.

I am hopefully going to breed dubias, too (roaches). I did in the past, but it worked too well. I had like ten thousand on a few large bins. I had to freeze them for a month, so they were disposed of. But I did start with two thousand. I may start with like a hundred.

Does anyone here sell dubias?

I'm sure there are some members here that sell them. I personally got mine from www.theroachguy.com . Jason was extremely helpful, and has a great startup kit. I got the roaches quickly, and not one was dead. I've already got a TON of babies :)

I also got mine from theroachguy.com. I am happy with the starter kit that I got. I ordered 7 breeding pairs with the kit. I have fed a few to my leos, but want to make sure that my colony is strong before I really start using them. I have probably had my colony for a month and a half now.
