Ok I have a 5 year old(thats what I was told) female(also what I have been told). She is a regular morph, I dont know her genetic background. She is about 8.5 inches long. I want to breed her with a high yellow or anything else bright and pretty under $75 shipped. What would the offspring be? Would the first year produce fertil eggs?(she is mature so would that help the chances?) Do I need to do drastsic temp changes and light cycles to induce breeding? Could a male/female pair be housed year-round together without ill effects? Any tips, suggestions, comments welcomed.

Most likely the offspring would be somewhere between what the female looks like and what the male you get looks like. You can keep a male and female together all year round. I do it with no problems. You may or may not get fertile eggs, it depends on the geckos' fertility. You would do best by reading the breeding section of the forum and also googling "leopard gecko breeding" where you will find lots of good care sheets (I've checked it out). You can also get basic information from some of the more popular leopard gecko care books.

The most important things to consider besides the mechanics of breeding are:
Do you have the equipment you need?
Do you have adequate housing for the babies?
Have you thought about what to do with the babies if you are not planning to keep them all?
Are you prepared to spend the extra money on feeding and housing babies?

Good luck,

Aliza
