Breeding Season and Feeding-Eating?

From what I understand we are are in the breeding season. Meaning the females are producing eggs to either be absorbed or lay duds.

So what affect does this have ( or can ) on feeding, eating, or change of habits ( behavior) ?

Many ovulating females are not eating as much and some females laying eggs are hungry after they lay. Some are the opposite, at least in my house.
