I know this will probably make a few breeders upset but I am just going to put it out there. I see many ads where people are selling female leopard geckos at 30 plus grams and advertising them as breeder size. A leopard gecko that is 30 grams should not even be considered breeding size. It makes me wonder if people are just in a race to show the next new morph?? In my opinion Leopard geckos should not be bred until they hit 50g minimum. This is the very minimum. I like to see 60g plus. Males on the other hand are a different story. 45 grams minimum. Obviously he is not going through the stress of egg production. What many new breeders do not realize is there is no quick way to make a buck in reptile breeding. The bigger the female the more healthy eggs she will produce.
