Breeding Software

I'm looking at having a customized program made specifically for Herp Breeding, Propagation, Pedigrees, and Husbandry and was looking for the input of the community of what should be included in the software. I want it to be designed for Mac OS X and for Windows applications. Thanks ahead of time for the input.

FYI if your not coding it yourself it will probably cost you upwards of 500 dollars...if your asking it for TWO operating systems then I am sure it will be over 1,250 (that would be extremely cheap at that price)

It would be cheaper to just use excel and make a database.

There is a free software download at Leopardgecko.com that may help, but Marcia's suggestion is the best thing I've seen in regards to this. Nice job MOGL. You are so kewl.

That is a pretty cool webstie but I was wanting to lean more towards personal use rather than a public area (and yes I know you can hide the information for your eyes only) and I really think a Pedigree Program is needed in the herp community. This is why I wanted to get a program started. :main_thumbsup:

I tried the software from that other website and it still has a few bugs. I have never heard of iHerp before, that's awesome!!

F.Y.I., MS Excel is a Spreadsheet program and MS Access is a Database program.

Metzcal is a decent herp program, but it is easy enough to make up your own records with some of the Microsoft products. Different folks use lots of different things. It's about what works best for you I guess.

right thanks. haven't had to call them that in forever haha. open office just calls them database and spreadsheets.
