Is breeding rough?

I put my adult female gecko together with my cousin's male gecko. Is the female ovulating if there is a pink circle in the middle of the stomach?I saw in a post that someone said the female is ovulating when you can see two eggs in the stomach which is infertile. My gecko has a pink circle in the middle of the stomach. The male started licking the female and bit her near the neck.I know the biting is normal but the female gecko turned around and tried to bite it back.I am afraid to let them mate now.. any help? :main_no:

Breeding can be rough. Some geckos can hurt each other, but sometimes it just looks rough and they are OK. In general, the male will bite the female. If the female bites back and the male doesn't let go, that's not so good because the female is saying "no" and the male is not responding to that. Sometimes it's good to just wait a little while and see what happens. If you feel one or the other is going to draw blood, you can usually get the biter to release by pushing at the sides of the mouth.
