Hello, I'm going on vacation in a month to Washington and Oregon. I live in Canada and I was wondering what the restrictions are on bring a leopard gecko across the border. And also if there is any restriction about bringing live crickets and meal worms across.

your best bet is to call customs and ask, even if someone gave u a yes or no answer on here you should still call them to be certain. it could be a case of the agent telling you a yes or no in his or her discretion. how long are u going for?. i know for a fact you wouldnt be able to bring dubias back home though if that crossed ur mind...sucks i know i live in canada aswell, would love to get my hands on dubais..

1-800-461-9999. This is a toll free number for the border information service. If you ask someone there they will tell you 100%. I think you should be okay, but still call.

I'm pretty sure in you bring a leo into the States you have to fill out a fish & wildlife form or go through that agency or something for a fee of around $200. If you buy a leo in the States you can bring it across the border without any problems back into Canada. There is an exemption for leo's specifically I read on the Canadian website. I've brought back a leo from the States before and the border guard didn't even want to look in the box to confirm what it was when I told her....lol It could have easily have been a 10 foot cobra and they would have been none the wiser!

I couldn't even bring an apple into the states. And apple. Going back into Canada tends to be a bit more lenient.
