So I was asked to take maggie,Dante, and our bunny to Kylie's class. I had no idea that so many kids are afraid of bunnies.lol. But maggie was a big hit. I had all the kids line up and they each got a chance to touch maggie. I told them where leopard geckos are from, what they eat...just the basics. They had lots of questions. They were all so curious about Maggie. The aid in the class was taking pictures so hopefully I'll get to post some soon.

I should get my sister to talk to you, coz she wants a bunny so bad, and asked my mom like once every 2 months for years, and still the answer is no. lol.

That's awesome, Christine! It's good to educate children about pets, especially reptiles, since many don't have a chance to have one! I will be doing the same for my daughter's 7th grade science class this year, but I'll get to talk about genetics. :main_thumbsup:

Ummm....don't know what to say about the bunny situation :main_huh: lol

Not only did my zoology class have a resident rabbit who pooed and peed all over the classroom every day, but I brought in my bearded dragon Fonzie during our Reptilia unit and did a presentation. I tell you, it's a lot of fun! I highly recommend it to anyone who is in school or has kids in school.

Not only that, but it's a good way to spread information about our beloved reptilian pets, the kind the petstores don't give people. ;)

But anyway, you'd think high schoolers would be much rougher, but most were really drawn to Fonzie. And of course, he loved all the attention, being passed around, petted and rubbed. :D

I dropped Kylie off this morning and you can't just get them out of the car and leave, you have to walk them to where they wait with the class. Well we started walking down the side walk and I could hear "Kylie's here!". All the kids were standing up yelling at Kylie to sit by them until the bell rings. And now they all want to come to our house.Kylie is so cool...lol.

LOL, that's awesome that the kids enjoyed the gecko so much :) The bunnies are adorable too.

I was the same when I was a little girl, but my mom told me, "Only if we can eat it for dinner one day." LOL, it's kind of humorous now, but it definitely wasn't back then. I tell my mom the story and she doesn't remember, but I do!!
