Brumation time

When should I start brumation if I want to start breeding in mid-January? Am I too late? Should I start tomorow?

I started about a month ago. It's only about 4 weeks till mid-Jan and I think you need 6-8 weeks. You don't have to brumate to breed. I haven't for the past 4 seasons but I am this season only because most of my breeders are brumating themselves.
