Brumation?

So I think my leo, Ozy is kind of brumating. Her eating has declined and she is pretty much just in her humid hide all the time. She has never had any health issues. Always been a good eater, good poops and all that. She's nice and fat with a fat tail. She still eats a bit, just not as much. And I haven't seen any poop from her in a few days. Last night I gave her a warm soak, some olive oil and a tummy rub. Her stomach didn't feel hard or bloated or anything and it didn't look bruised. Just white like always.. So is it possible she's just getting into the winter mood? I haven't dropped her temps, but there is a window about 3 feet from her viv, that I keep the blinds up on so she can always see the sunrise and sunset and where the sun is and all of that.

My geckos definitely slow down on eating during the colder months. My females usually do not slow down as much as the males. I think this is because they are still fattening up after laying all their eggs. But i do have 2 males that go on a 2 month food strike each winter.

I just wanted some opinions. Thanks Russell. :) I'll just keep an eye on her and if it looks like she's losing weight or something weird she'll be taking a vet trip. Maybe she just hasn't been eating enough to poop everyday. I guess I should expect changes as she grows. I just got used to her being a baby and eating and pooping everyday. Now if I don't see poop everyday I start to worry. She did eat some roaches and mealworms last night and this morning, so maybe I'll see some poop tonight.

Sounds like she is slowing down because the cooler temps. She will prolly poop less because she is eating less. Just keep an eye on her. As long as she isn't loosing large amounts of weight she will be fine. Also you might want to move her a bit further away from the window.

Ok. She pooped and it looks fine. Big, white urate atop a solid brown log. So I'll just chalk it up to her slowing down for the winter and keep an eye on her weight. Thanks for the reassurance. :D
