HI I have a young male leopard gecko that is 36 grams I flip him over just to double check if he’s a male. He has small bulges probably because of his size but I don’t see pre-anal pores. so do the pores become pronounce during the breeding season? He was purchased as a male but sometimes you can get the wrong thing.

I've been sexing my leopard geckos by looking at the pores with a magnifying glass (a jeweler's loupe would be better). I find that regardless of the bulges, the males have actual tiny holes where the pores are and the females have small depressions. This is the only way I've been able to tell reliably and I've seen it in males as small as 15 grams.
