Bullying

Right... I've got two female Leo's housed together, one is slightly bigger than the other and I've caught them sleeping together in the same hide on many occasions. :main_no: I've heard many people on these forums diagnosing this as bullying, and I'm sure it is if one continually follows the other one around and sleeps on top of him/her and eats all the food. I have seen other people on here having similar problems so I'd like to start an anecdotal discussion :main_robin:

I have noticed that the one who is 'supposedly' being bullied will also quite happily go in a hide when the other one is there. Now I don't speak gecko quite yet, but if I was getting bullied, I wouldn't go and share my bed with my persecutor by my own free will... So, what do you guys think? Still bullying? Or just plain friendly? :) Thanks

Usually the "sleeping in the same hide" issue is bullying when one gecko keeps following another into whatever hide she goes in and sitting on her. As long as both are eating, maintaining or gaining weight and no one is scratched up, it's probably fine.

Bullying 101

I have observed both signs of bullying and
companionship with geckos.
Displayed in many of the same ways.
If you can't decide which it is, you should be able
to check mate it through " having a scale. "
.....as bullying usually results in the bully-ee:main_rolleyes:
not eating as much as the bully-or.:main_rolleyes:
Take care. HJ
