Well, I got my first Leopard Gecko today =D

His name is Byran.

The merchant didn't seem to know what he was doing, as he knew nothing about the gecko.
There was no information available except that he was male, and when I asked when he hatched, I got "I don't know, probably around 6 months or something like that."

So, here he is in all his glory!

What morph do you think he is? I got him for $35 -- Good for this morph? Any other info?

Comments welcome
Thanks =]

Congrats on your first gecko!

Looks like a ''Dookie'' Tremper... Which means the lav/maroon/pink color has darkened due to low incubation temps... This would lead me to believe it's a female, but I can't tell from the pics...

A dookie tremper? Is there another name, or place where I can get info on that? I cannot find it on the Leopard Gecko Wiki.

Anyway, I can't really take any underbelly shots or even check there myself yet, because I'm afraid he'll squirm and fall if I hold him like that, but Lena (Valencia) took one look at the base of his tail and concluded that it was a male, because of a lump or something, and the merchant also said male.

I'll be sure to check when I can, though.

Thanks

LOL He means a Tremper albino. They can range from white-ish to dark brown ... thus "dookie".

Ahhh. That makes much more sense ;)
Thanks.

Lena actually said that it was most likely an albino, but she thought it was a bell albino.

Thanks =]

He’s a Tremper, $35 is a good price for one.

Also can you get a picture or his/her underside, this may help us determine the sex.

I can try to -- Don't know, though. I'll see what I can do :p

"Dookie" Tremper? That's a new term for me.

I was under the impression he was a bell.

And as far as I can tell, it's a male. There's a considerable bulge. :main_laugh:

Well, I've still not been able to get an underbelly shot, but I've looked myself, and I'm 99% sure that it is male.

Anyway, he was playing on my bed today, and out of 39 shots I got 6 decent ones =]
(He's hard to take a picture of ;) Lots of movement)

You really lucked out. He's too cute! I need to think of a name for my new guy.

Oh hey - Any luck with him eating yet?

How's your new guy doing? Settled in at all yet?

Also, no, not yet...

I thought that he was eating. I put some worms in there yesterday and they were gone when I got home, didn't see them anywhere, same thing today, but then when I went to clean out his tank a bit earlier I found 4 superowrms underneath the paper towel in there.
I guess they can climb under it, but they can't get back up :\

What I've learned is to pick out the smallest supers from the cup that aren't trying to escape (You know how some of them in the cup are like clawing at the sides?). They actually have lasted a day without escaping from the bowl. ;)

This little guy is amazing, btw. Eating like a monster from the moment I got him! Great to handle and friendly, too. You gotta come over and see him. Hopefully will have pics to post by tomorrow.

Yeah, I've done that a few times and they did stay in there, but after a while they stopped moving much, and I figure that Byran would want his prey to be moving at least a bit.

I'll put one of those ones in for the night, though.

Also, very cool. That's awesome that he's been eating since you got him. What morph is he?
