Cage Question

OK so i have my cage for my crested 20L 18W and 30T I was wanting to put live plants/vines in but how do i do it? pot them? put a bottom layer of soil bury there and then coco-fiber on top? how should i plant the plants?

1 More question is this tank to big? iv heard they can get stressed if in to big of an enviroment.

i dont know about sizes and such but Dendroboard.com has got some great advice on how to make a iving rainforest viv. check it out. its ment for pdf's(poison dart frogs) but it should be the same idea.

It depends on the size of the gecko if its a hatchling some people may think its too big and wouldn't be able to find its food,, but as for me i think it would be fine especially a planted viv with all those hiding places sounds cool but if it is a younger one i'd suggest putting the food bowl in the same place every time you feed it.

My crestie is in a smaller enclosure (12"x12"x18" exoterra). Here is how I planted it: about 1" clay balls for drainage, about 2" coco fibers (eco earth). I should have put in some netting between the layers but I forgot it. I planted my plants by spreading out the roots so they grow horizontally instead of down into the soil. I fertilize with organic liquid fertilizer periodically. I also added some pill bugs to help with processing droppings. My crestie has been in there for about 14 months. The enclosure smells good, the droppings are fertilizing the plants and I find my crestie utilizing the plants very well. I put in one plant native to New Caledonia, and most days Spencer has wrapped himself in the leaves to snooze.
