I have read that you need to give your leopard gecko calcium just in a dish so is that what i do or do i dust the crickets? And it there any other kind of supplement that i need for my leopard gecko?
I was told dusting crickets is sufficient. Don't dust mealworms though cuz it'll clog their breathing pores and kill them. Just put the mealies in a cup that has a "dusting" of it's own to prevent that.
I also use zoomed's gutload for my crickets as food. I've put the gutload jello-like things in the cage with my gecko... and he's eaten them also (maybe thinking they're a fruit cuz they smell kind a sweet?).
Well most Leo keepers practice dusting and having the leos regulate their own intake of Calcium by putting it in a small dish. I've personally practiced this for awhile but then I started using an All-In-One Supplement. While it seems good and has great reviews I think I'll be adding some plain calcium in there just to make sure she's getting what she needs and she needs it.
I honestly havn't had any problems dusting mealworms. I put them in a cup with a little Rephasy Calcium Plus and shake away and I also use grinded up oatmeal as their substrate/bedding and havn't had any problems with them dying because of clogged breathing pores. That again is my experience.
